THE GREAT OUTDOORS
MARIGOLD (Live @ Lucky’s)

Greetings music fans.

No time for idle chitchat, my childrens; your Uncle Jon is off to Nanton to sit in on the new Kingsway sessions. RC is doing some recording with The Weber Brothers – as in Ronnie Hawkins’ backing band The Weber Brothers. This is gonna be great for DDG. Provided said Weber Brothers don’t storm out of the studio when they discover that RC has the guitar skills of a hot-knife smoking, storm rider sporting highshool freshman who dropped out of Guitar 9 when he realized the curriculum didn’t include teaching him how to play ‘Tom Sawyer’.

Maybe I’ll get them all real high and no one will even notice. Better bring the Indo just to be sure.

Shine on you crazy diamonds.

Greetings music fans.

Okay, your Uncle Jon got slaughtered yesterday. Lost a lot of money. A-lot. So let’s forget about taking the time to chase Carrie Underwood to record some DDG songs. Let’s get some quick money. How ’bout this Jessie James chick? She needs songs. And not too hard on the old vision orbs. Some like their country new, some like it traditional. Uncle Jon likes his country dirty. Yes-haw! Someone get me this tart’s digits.

Shine on you crazy diamonds.

KINGSWAY & COUNTERREVOLUTIONARIES
DIRT

Greetings music fans.

No call back from Bollywood yet. I am starting to think that directories operator might have been fucking with me. Regardless, what started out as kind of mid-morning drunken joke has sparked a new flame of creative ommerce in your Uncle Jon’s presently pounding melon: I am going to try to sell off songs from this DDG catalogue to other performers. Let’s face it, there’s no money to be made anymore  just moving units. The CD biz is all but dead. And sure, vinyl will always be popular, but not popular enough to keep me in the debaucherous lifestyle to which I have become accustomed. So yeah, I will sell songs. How hard can it be?

Let’s start at the top. Somebody get me that Carrie Underwood lady’s number. Pronto, tonto.

Shine on you crazy diamonds.

MANIAGO
It’s Possible

Greetings music fans.

This song is from a project RC has with Sho Murray of ShoCore and, more recently, City of Fire. His bands make money, RC. Why don’t you concentrate on making songs with him instead of crafting 7 minute epics about the shooting death of a pantless soul icon in a seedy motel room?Nobody wants to know about that shit. They certainly don’t want it sung to them. Come on, man. Show some respect.

Anyway, I think I might start trying to sell off some of these songs, recoup some of my losses. I always thought this song could be turned into a great Bollywood hit. It has the right beat, and those kind of borderline show tune lyrics (ahem), and the ability to accomodate lots of different backup singing. It’s Bollywood gold, I tell ya. Put me in contact with someone from Bollywood. Let’s get this rolling.

Shine on you crazy diamonds.
