KINGSWAY & THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Desperate Men – Live @ EVES
Greetings music fans.
Looks like your Uncle Jon is going to be “unavailable” for the next 30 days. Perhaps less with good behaviour. Long story. Judge not, first stone casters.
Anyways, probably only going to be able to touch base every week or so, via proxy - i.e. anyone who comes to visit me at Surrey Pre-trial that can work a computer. So, about 15% of the people that will come to visit me while I am in jail. (That last statement explains a lot, huh? I think my peer group is to blame.)
So, yeah, here’s what is coming up on the DDG horizon:
- RC has started recording a new Kingsway album entitled The Girl Gets Away, based on a series of Dan Brodie paintings. He just recorded the first five songs at Steve Loree’s Crabapple Downs Studio with the greatest band of the new millenium - The Weber Brothers. I was there. It might be the oxycotin talking, but I thought it sounded like hillbilly motown. And that is my highest compliment. Gold. Hope I am out in time for the next session.
- The Great Outdoors new album Nanton: Live at the Auditorium Hotel will be available soon in vinyl. On vinyl. In vinyl? I don’t even fucking know anymore. To be honest, I’ve been pounding anti-depressants all day. Trying to get me a nice base for those first few nights of cold turkey. You know, until I make some connections. But I digress. The Great Outdoors on vinyl. What better way to listen to those cats and their 70s folk rock goodness? Beautiful job, Adam. Brilliant as always, Wells. Rock on, Randy. McCaul, I am speechless. Namaste, Steve. I’ll be out in time for your release party. In fact, let’s make your release party my release party.
‘…the best live album of the past thirty years…’ BC Musician
- The Great Outdoors and Kingsway will be playing at the The Cobalt. Pardon me. They will be playing at the NEW Cobalt. I don’t know what defines it as ’new’ now. Probably just finally put doors on the bathrooms. And the stalls. Anyways, those guys were invited to play by the fantasmagorical We Found A Lovebird . Should be a helluva show. It’s on Rememberance Day. Don’t forget. (Sorry. It’s the drugs.)
Alright, off I go. Talk to you when I can, music fans. It’s time for three hots and a cot. Again. When will I grow up?
Shine on you crazy diamonds.
