No time to write today; I have to prepare for tomorrow. And by ‘prepare’ I mean ‘rest’. Your Uncle Jon will need all his strenth to survive the debaucherous debacle that has come to be known as the DDG Canada Day Do. It’s a full afternoon of booze, bands and bulgogi (bulgogi is that bbq’ed Korean beef, yes, but it’s also the latest slang term for yayo), and it boasts an overall level of inebriation that makes Leaving Las Vegas seem like a baby shower.

So yeah, I need some rest. After all, I’m the goddamned president of the party.

Shine on you crazy diamonds.

THE MAD DASH Twister  Greetings music fans. Damn. Japan loses to Paraguay in the 2010 World Cup’s first shootout. I thought for sure the fix would be in there. Damn. Japan loses to Paraguay in the 2010 World Cup’s first shootout. I thought for sure the fix would be in there. I mean, FIFA just lost half their audience. Asian people stick together when it comes to sports. Japan was their last hope. An entire continent is about to tune-out, collectively switching the channel from World Cup back to fucked-up game shows and reruns of Simon & Simon.

Yellow card, FIFA. Yellow card.

Greetings music fans.

More fucking rain? At the risk of sounding self-involved and ignorant, I am going to go out on a limb and say this perpetual summertime precipitation is damn near akin to tragic oil spill in the Gulf. Seriously though, there are some similarities: Both are flows of an annoying liquid substance that is otherwise coveted. Both can not be controlled by man. Both are ruining beach volleyball tournaments everywhere. (Such as the one I attended yesterday. Don’t get me wrong; I don’t play beach volleyball. I just go to watch the ladies in their short shorts. And when it is raining at the beach, short shorts sightings go down considerably.)

So yeah, enough with the rain. And let’s maybe try to do something about the oil spill too. People need to see short shorts.

Shine on you crazy diamonds.

KINGSWAY & THE GREAT OUTDOORS Circa ’70

Greetings music fans.

Too exhausted to write today. I ate a bag of mushrooms and watched the entire Isner-Mahut match on satellite yesterday. Made for a very exciting match. Is there anything mushrooms can’t do?

I can muster up the strenth, however, to send a happy birthday shout out to all my John the Baptist peeps. You know who you are. Have a good one. (Should’ve swung by yesterday; you would have had a great one.)

Shine on you crazy diamonds.
