THE GREAT OUTDOORS Nanton Live
Greetings music fans.
Got a few reviews in today from some of those in attendance for The Great Outdoors performance at this past weekend’s Car-free festival in Vancouver:
“These guys are what the Eagles would sound like if the Eagles weren’t totally fucking gay.”
-some fitness redneck on a recumbant bicycle
“The best band of the whole festival. And that bass player is so rad.”
-some hippie tart who was eyeing up Craig McCaul
“I would have never guessed such a hard-drinking bunch of degenerates would be playing at an event as important as Car-free Day. I knew they were a great band, now I also know they are great human beings.”
-some slam poetry homo in an ironic trucker cap
Me, I didn’t go to the gig. I can’t, in all good conscience, support Car-free Day. I am all about the car. Hell, I’d drive two at a time if I could. I don’t walk anywhere. I just drove two and half blocks to the gym. I don’t even like to watch people walk. (Unless it’s Michelle Van Der Water in that Palm Pre ad. I don’t even know what Palm Pre is, but I’ve bought four of them because of that ad. But I digress.) Plus I also didn’t go to the show because everytime I am around slam poetry people I end up getting an assault charge. I can’t help myself; they’re the mimes of the new millenium.
Shine on you crazy diamonds.
